Ruth Reed, art quilt textile

'Inge Hueber, Anne Keith and Veronica Togneri come together for the first time in this exhibition ‘Making Journeys’. The title refers to the development of their work over a period of years and in Keith’s case makes direct reference to her travels and journeys. Although each maker has a distinct and separate voice many similarities exist between them, all appear to be intrigued by nature and behaviour of natural fabrics – cotton, linen, silk; all interpret ideas into powerful graphic images and all share a commitment to creativity and ongoing desire to communicate.'

'Anne Keith – This quietly personal quilter works by linking the past to present through images drawn from urban landscape, architecture, travel etc. With her trained eye she observes and translates complex colour and tone changes in a subtle and sensitive way. She is absorbed and patient when handling fabric; collecting, gathering
and treasuring materials from her travels.'
